Unreal Conditional :Conjunction “As if/as though”

Conditioanl sentence As if dan As though. As if atau as though berarti seolah-olah, konjungsi ini digunakan untuk mengungkapkan pengandaian yang bertolak belakang dengan fakta/kenyataan. Berikut ini adalah rumus atau formula:

Digunakan dalam past tense :

S + verb1 + as if/as though + S + verb2

Digunakan dalam Past perfect tense:

S + verb2 + (as if/as though) + S + had + verb3

And online test of  Conditional sentence

Examples:

Kalimat past tense:

1.   Munip acts as if he met his boyfriend.

(Munip bertingkah laku seolah-olah dia bertemu dengan pacarnya)

2.   They look as though they saw a ghost.

(Mereka kelihatan seperti melihat hantu)

3.   Santi behaves as if she were a child

Kalimat Past perfect tense:

1.   Suryo played tennis as if he had won the game.

(Slamet bermain tenis seakan-akan dia telah memenangkan permainan.

2.   Daryoso ate rice as though he hadn’t eaten for days

(Daryoso makan nasi seolah-olah di belum makan berhari-hari)

3.   Umanah ran fast as if  she had been chased by a dog

Catatan : be –were digunakan  semua subjek di dalam kalimat pengandaian(Conditioanl sentence) untuk past tense.
